Members are encouraged to join us on Tuesday, October 29th at 7 PM

The MCRR Club Meeting for October will feature guest speaker Joseph Salwan, Ph.D. Joe will talk about the psychology of motivation. More specifically, the motivation to get out and put one foot in front of the other, day in and day out.

There will be a group run prior to the meeting. Meet at the Library at 6:00 PM for a four-mile run on the all-purpose trail through Roscoe Ewing Park. Board members will be holding their meeting at this time and won’t be able to participate.

More about Joe: Joseph F. Salwan, Ph.D., is a psychologist in private practice with the Akron Family Institute, Inc., in Green, Ohio and is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychology in Psychiatry at the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. In addition to working with children, adolescents and adults in his clinical practice he also enjoys a subspecialty in the area of sport psychology. He earned his doctoral degree from Virginia Tech. He has been a competitive runner for over 50 years and has run over 100 combined marathons and ultramarathons. At the age of 60, he finally crossed out the only thing on his Bucket List by running and completing the Comrades (ultra)marathon in South Africa.
